DereferenceSymbolicLink.sh (GPL)DereferenceSymbolicLink.sh is a Bourne shell script that accepts a symbolic link path name and returns the actual path that is referenced by the link. DereferenceSymbolicLink.sh is distributed as executable source code under the GNU General Public License. Please see the license agreement elsewhere on this site. UsageDereferenceSymbolicLink.sh "link path" Chieh Cheng Made an improvement to "DereferenceSymbolicLink.sh". In the previous release, the script fails to dereference symbolic link if the resulting file or directory is not a symbolic link itself, but only contains a symbolic link within its path. In this new version, "DereferenceSymbolicLink.sh" has the ability to dereference file and directory path that contains one or more symbolic links within its path. This new version of "DereferenceSymbolicLink.sh" takes advantage of the following UNIX shell script, which is also available on this site. So to use the this new version, you will need to download this other script if you don't already have it. IsSymbolicLinkInPath.bash Chieh Cheng
