Learning about functions in AppleScript hasn't been easy. The real challenge is search for topic regarding AppleScript functions online. That's because in AppleScript, they are not called functions, subroutines, nor methods. Instead, they are called "Handlers". Therefore, searching for AppleScript functions produced few desirable results. But once I started using the right terminology, one very useful reference popped up. And that's the "About Handlers" page on Apple's web site.
