Emu48 Mysteriously Closes on Load Object

Having recently installed Emu48 on Windows XP, I've been happily playing with the HP 48 calculator on my notebook computer. In the past, I have written a lot of programs that I can easily load into the virtual calculator through it's "Load Object..." option. When first starting the calculator, the option works fine. But on subsequent load object operations, the open file dialog would show, then, a few seconds later, the Emu48 application will close. There is no other error indications. The only work-around I can think of, to save time, is to close Emu48 yourself and start it again before loading a second object. If anyone has any other solution to this problem, I'd love to hear it.
