No suitable XML Schema Validator

I'm trying to install more packages in the Android SDK and AVD Manager. But instead, I got the following error messages:

No suitable XML Schema Validator could be found in your Java environment. Please update
No packages found

I also get the following error messages when I tried to refresh the sources:

XML verification failed for http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml
Error: java.lang.NullPointerException

Now what?
