This online utility allows you to detect text encoding of a text passage that you past in the text box below. If this tool detects only ASCII characters, then you can use Copyscape or copy-and-paste sentences into Google search to check for plagiarism. If on the other hand, it detects Unicode characters, it will give you a warning. In this case, you should manually copy sentences from the passage into Google search to check for plagiarism.
