Edit MortScript.mscr (GPL)By default, it's not possible to edit MortScript programs on Windows Mobile device, because Word Mobile does not recognize the .mscr extension as a text file. With the "Text File Association.mscr" posted on this site recently, you can associate any file extensions as text file for editing in Word Mobile. But you wouldn't want to do that with .mscr files, because you won't be able to execute them. That where this "Edit MortScript.mscr" comes it. "Edit MortScript.mscr" lets you open any MortScript programs in any directory into Word Mobile for editing. That means you can do all of your MortScript development right on the Windows Mobile device. You won't have to move the storage card back and forth between your computer and your handheld device; a great convenience. "Edit MortScript.mscr" requires the free MortScript interpreter to execute. So in order to use this script, you'll have to download and install MortScript on your Windows Mobile device, if you haven't already done so. "Edit MortScript.mscr" is distributed as executable source code under the GNU General Public License. Please see the license agreement elsewhere on this site. Chieh Cheng PocketPC 2002 and 2003 runs MortScript just fine. However, they don't have a "/Application Data" directory like Windows Mobile 5 and 6, thus, causing the configuration saving to silently fail. This new and improved version of "Edit MortScript.mscr", attached below, works around this problem on Pocket PC 2002 and 2003 by creating the "/Application Data" directory if it is missing. Chieh Cheng Hi Chieh, Thanks for this script. I read your text carefully and I looked at the script, yet I still cannot understand how do you use this script. For example, do you run this script every time you need to edit an *.mscr file? Or do you assign this script to a but, which you press every time when you need to edit an *.mscr? Or what? I too do my development on my mobile, and I use Notepad to edit the *.mscr files, but (like you say) because they are not associated with Notepad on my mobile I have to go to menu File>Open>All Files in order to open tham (i.e. I cannot simply point to the file in the Windows Explorer on my mobile and open the file for editing from there). So what do you do with your script -- please provide a step-by-step explanation and an example of what the user must do in order to open a given file for editing with the help of your script. Thanks for your time and help, Plamen What kind of mobile do you have? I am not aware of any mobile platform that has Notepad. This "Edit MortScript.mscr" is really meant for Windows Mobile and Pocket PC's, because there is no Notepad application. And there is no "File>Open>All Files" to open up any text file. The only text file Word Mobile can open up is text files with .txt extension. And there is no way (without a third-party application) to rename file extensions. To use "Edit MortScript.mscr", you'll have to execute "Edit MortScript.mscr" first. Then it will open up a "Open File" like dialog box so that you can select the mscr file to open up. Chieh Cheng
