Can't Open Script in Path

Interesting and profound thing happening today. I've been writing some shell scripts and I got the following error message:

/bin/sh: Can't open Editor.sh

Editor.sh is in a directory that is specified in the $PATH shell variable. And I'm able to execute it from the command-line in a different directory. So I tried substitute another script (ApplicationExists.sh) that is in the same directory and the original script was able to execute this other script just fine. Really strange.

I'm sitting here scratching my head for a few hours, never able to figure how Editor.sh and ApplicationExists.sh are different. But I did figure out a work-around, without having to specify the full absolute path of Editor.sh. After all, that's what $PATH is for. In the first script, I added the following lines:

executable=`which Editor.sh`
"${executable}" "${file}"

The first line uses the "which" command to figure out where Editor.sh is located. The second line executes the Editor.sh with the full absolute path. Now, I can move forward with my task, without figuring out why I am getting this discrepancy. But I still like to know. If you have any idea, please post it here.
