ssh.tcl (GPL)ssh.tcl is an Expect Tcl script is a wrapper for the "ssh" command. It improves on "ssh" by allowing you to specifying password as a command-line parameter. Although SSH discourages the specification of password on the command-line for security reasons, it is really a handicap for computer gurus and experts, who can take advantage of it in low-security situations. This script provides the password-on-the-command-line functionality. ssh.tcl is distributed as executable source code under the GNU General Public License. Please see the license agreement elsewhere on this site. UsageYou can use all "ssh" command-line arguments with ssh.tcl. ssh.tcl simply passes them along to "ssh". The only argument it intercepts is the new "--password:" argument. When you specify the password directly behind the ':', without a space, ssh.tcl will use the password to log you in to the remote system. The password argument may be specified anywhere on the command-line. ssh.tcl --password:password [ssh argument 1] ... [ssh argument N] Examplessh.tcl [email protected] "ls -1F" --password:test Chieh Cheng The original version, attached above was great for sending remote commands on the command-line. However, it did not allow you to start interactive SSH sessions. I've made a slight change to the new version that is attached below, which will allow you to start interactive SSH sessions with a password on the command-line. By the way, keep in mind that when you use this script (with the password command-line option), your password will show up in the process list (the 'ps' command). You should only use this script on a server with no other users. Chieh Cheng
