rsync.tcl (GPL)rsync.tcl is an Expect Tcl wrapper script for the "rsync" command. It improves on "rsync" by allowing you to specifying password as a command-line parameter. Although Secure Shell discourages the specification of password on the command-line for security reasons, it is really a handicap for computer gurus and experts, who can take advantage of it in low-security situations. This script provides the password-on-the-command-line functionality. Security Note: Keep in mind that when you use this script (with the password command-line option), your password will show up in the process list (the 'ps' command). You should only use this script on a computer with no other users. rsync.tcl is distributed as executable source code under the GNU General Public License. Please see the license agreement elsewhere on this site. UsageYou can use all "rsync" command-line arguments with rsync.tcl. rsync.tcl simply passes them along to "rsync". The only argument it intercepts is the new "--password:" argument. When you specify the password directly behind the ':', without a space, rsync.tcl will use the password to log you into the remote system to transfer files. The password argument may be specified anywhere on the command-line. rsync.tcl --password:password [rsync argument 1] ... [rsync argument N] Examplersync.tcl [email protected]:file . --password:test Chieh Cheng
