Background Toggle (Freeware)Background Toggle is a free Mac OS X utility that hides your running applications so that they don't clutter up your Dock. To use it, just drag the application that you want to hide in the background onto Background Toggle. It will automatically hide the application from Dock the next time the application is executed. You can drag the same application onto Background Toggle to turn off that feature. Background Toggle works by changing the "LSUIElement" entry in the application Info.plist file. Background Toggle is distributed as Freeware. Please see the "Freeware License Agreement" elsewhere on this site. This application has been tested on Mac OS X 10.5.4 (Leopard), but should work on other versions of Mac OS X. Let us know whether this utility works on other versions if you try it. Note Chieh Cheng
