Change Background (GPL)

"Change Background.scpt" is an AppleScript that allows you to change the Mac OS X background image from the command-line. You can use this script as part of your own custom script to change the background image automatically based on programming condition. For example, I use it to change the background image depending on the number of displays I have connected to my notebook computer. You can use other conditions like today's weather, etc.

"Change Background.scpt" is distributed as executable source code under the GNU General Public License. Please see the license agreement elsewhere on this site.

Usage

  osascript "Change Background.scpt" "background image"

Examples

$ osascript "Change Background.scpt" "Background 1.png"

$ osascript "Change Background.scpt" "Background 2.png"
