system_profiler Hangs in SleepWatcher .wakeup

Today, I have been trying to get SleepWatcher to run system_profiler in its .wakeup script. But it seems that system_profiler will always hang in the middle of execution. Last time, it hangs in the "Graphics/Displays" section:

Intel GMA 950:

Chipset Model: GMA 950
Type: Display
Bus: Built-In
VRAM (Total): 64 MB of shared system memory
Vendor: Intel (0x8086)
Device ID: 0x27ae
Revision ID: 0x0003

Anyone know what's the deal with this problem? I would like to get the number of displays connected so that I can perform some automation. Anyone know another way to get the number of displays connected to Mac OS X?
