GM_log is not a functionAfter first hearing about Greasemonkey when I wrote about Real-Estate MLS Listing Hack I have been wanting to get started on programming with it. Since then, Greasemonkey is now up to verion 0.3.5. Mark Pilgrim's free Dive Into GreaseMonkey book is, of course, very helpful when I dove into it today. It mentioned a GM_log function that sound like an excellent way to get some output on the screen. But when I tried it, I got the following message in JavaScript Console: GM_log is not a function. What the heck!? After quite a bit of digging, I finally found a web page called, "XMLHttpRequest Tracing" for AJAX debugging. It claims that the GM_* functions have been removed due to security reasons as of 0.3.5. Quite an unfortunate turne of event, because GM_log would have been so helpful in debugging . . . Chieh Cheng I just installed Greasemonkey 0.6.4 on Firefox 1.5.0.1. The GM_log function is now working again. With the debug capability of the GM_log function, I see myself learning Greasemonkey a lot faster. Chieh Cheng
