Detect CharSet (Freeware)"DetectCharSet.class" is a Java command-line application that will help you determien the character set used by a text file. Simply specify the text file as command-line argument to "DetectCharSet.class" and it will output the character set used. This Java command-line utility is a helpful diagnostic when troubleshooting text processing software. It is written in Java so it runs on any operating system with the Java runtime environment. "DetectCharSet.class" takes advantage of the CI Class Package 5.6 or newer. You will have to download the package (from this web site) and install it if you don't have it already.
