SetDateVariables.bat (GPL)

SetDateVariables.bat is a Windows batch program that sets some batch variable with the current date values. Thus, your own batch programs can call this script to retrieve any of the date variable for its use. SetDateVariables.bat sets four variables that your batch script can use:

%yyyy% - the year
%mm% - the month
%dd% - the date
%CDATE% - full date (e.g. 05/20/2008)

Windows XP's "date /t" function actually produces inconsistent results depending on which Windows XP version you use. For example, on the Professional Edition, "date /t" outputs "Tue 05/20/2008", while on the Home Edition it outputs "05/20/2008 Tue". SetDateVariables.bat figures out which output your Windows XP provides and parses the variables accordingly, so that you don't have to.

To use this script, simply have your batch script call this script (e.g.

call SetDataVariables.bat
