PingSubNet.cmd (GPL)"PingSubNet.cmd" is a Windows batch script that can help you locate the IP address of a device on you subnet. You can also use it to figure out which computer is on or off. Just provide the subnet IP to "PingSubNet.cmd" and it will do the work for you. It takes up to a second to ping a dead IP, so the worst case scenario is that "PingSubNet.cmd" will take 256 seconds to ping an entire subnet. On the other hand, it returns quickly if an IP is alive. Therefore, on a network with large number of live hosts, it will complete it's task rather quickly. "PingSubNet.cmd" takes advantage of the following batch files and Java classes. They are also available on this web site. So to use "PingSubNet.cmd", you'll have to download these other supporting files, if you don't already have them. eGrep.class "PingSubNet.cmd" is distributed as executable source code under the GNU General Public License. Please see the license agreement elsewhere on this site.
