Drive Serial Number (GPL)"DriveSerialNumber.bat" is a batch file that can help you determine the serial number of a drive. This batch script is most useful to detect if a compact disc or removable floppy has been swapped with a different one. This batch script outputs the serial number of the mounted drive/disc. "DriveSerialNumber.bat" takes advantage of the following batch files and Java classes, which are also available on this site. So to use the this batch file, you will need to download the following utilities if you don't already have them. Head.class "DriveSerialNumber.bat" is distributed as executable source code under the GNU General Public License. Please see the license agreement elsewhere on this site. UsageDriveSerialNumber.bat drive ExamplesC:\>DriveSerialNumber.bat d: Chieh Cheng When there is no disc inserted into the disc drive and the tray is ejected, this batch script will output "The device is not ready." error message. This message is sent to STDERR. Therefore, you can redirect STDERR to NUL so that the message never shows: C:\>DriveSerialNumber e: Chieh Cheng
