Android Screen Shot

Distributing Android apps is always a fun experience. But to create the necessary app screen shots is a tedious manual task. To make our lives easier, I've created an AutoHotkey script that can, at least, automate the cropping of each screen shot to ease the task. Attached below is the AutoHotkey script for cropping Android screen shots in Gimp.

To use it, double-click the script to load it into memory. Then capture all the screen shot you want in Gimp ("Grab a single window" method), but don't save the screen shot yet. With each screen shot in the fore-most window, press WIN-c (hold down the Windows key and then press the letter 'c') to crop that particular screen shot.

When you pressed the correct key sequence, it switches Gimp to crop tool, put a crop border around the screen shot, crop the screen shot, then switch to the rectangular select tool. You can then use the rectangular select tool to manually delete portions of the screen shot, if necessary.

You may need to change some values in this script to suit your system: 1) the upper-left-hand-corner of the screen shot relative to Gimp; 2) the screen shot size.
